Last Friday Grant and I went over to Papa G's and DeeDee's after swimclass to eat lunch and visit! Little did I know that we would have a "Splash Fest"! It all started with this tiny cup and Dad telling Grant "Don't you dump that water on Papa's toes"!

And of course, Grant went right for it!! This was his face AFTER he did it! PRECIOUS!
He was so proud of himself, and honestly couldnt get enough of it! He would head towards Dad just giggling and saying "TOES"!
After he got bored with the cup, we moved to a mixing bowl! Dad got the hose out and started filling the bowl! Grant would say "SPAY PAPA, SPAY" meaning "Spray the water"!
The next thing we know, we look over and Grant is STANDING in the mixing bowl! He would look up and say "Potty"! Ok.... you little goofball!
I hope he gets this excited when potty training! I'm not holding my breath though!
He LOVED it when Dad would squirt him with the hose! He would run from it and yell "SPAY"!
Next DeeDee brought out the "Redneck Baby Pool" aka: the cooler! His little clothes were SOAKED and so I stripped him down and put a swim diaper on him and let him have at it!
NICE HAIR GRANT!

What day would be complete without some sunglasses
These next few pictures crack me up because it confirms that Grant is his Daddy made over! Since I first met Franklin, he would "wet the do".. he would dunk his hat in a creek or the lake and then dunk his head! Without encouragement... look what this child did!

You would've thought after this water-filled day that he would've taken a fantastic nap! But NO.. he didnt! He slept 45 minutes and then wanted to get up and play! So we all went to Cinco De Mayo which made me (and lil' peanut), Grant, Daddy, and the Grandparents SUPER HAPPY! But I honestly dont think anyone was more excited about Salsa than ME! :)

Great Granny and Gpa's!

Last week we headed down to Pulaski for lunch and a visit with Great Granny and Grandpa! Grant was tickled to death for some chicken tenders and fries and scarfed the icecream sandwich Gpa gave him!
They get HUNDREDS of jonquils each year but we made it a little late! Oh well.. the ones that were left were still pretty and Grant LOVED picking the "Showas"(flowers).
.... and loved smelling them too!

I love this picture! It brings back memories as a kid.. I picked these same flowers with Granny!

Grant had a large time and loved running all over their big yard and climbing on anything he could get on!

He also LOVED this bird bath and the red bird! He's always loved birds and attemted to take it out of the bath and give it several kisses!

We had a great trip.. we always love visiting with Granny and Grandpa and wished they lived closer!

ISR Time!

Well... its time for ISR! Grant, of course, is less than thrilled, but I am so excited! There's nothing better than watching your child learn survival skills, even if he does scream "Mama, hold you" the entire time!
The picture above is his face when Aunt Kelly gets in the water! hahahaha He loves her until her hair gets put up in a headband and ponytail! There is a precious little boy, Tucker, who swims before him and Grant likes to watch him and clap for him!

Yesterday his Gpa Frank came to watch him and Im not sure who was more upset, Grant or Grandpa? I think Gpa was ok until he started screaming "Grannnnnnnnndpa" and holding out his little arms!
I'm not sure of the "proper name" of what she's teaching him but in a nutshell.. she's teaching him to swim from the middle of the pool to the side and to reach for a/my hand!
Grant is doing great in his class and his Aunt Kelly is a FANTASTIC teacher! When she "loves on him" he holds her very tight and pats her on the back and tells her "All Done"! She sd he's definately her "Loudest" student! That's My Boy! Now she knows why I have migraines! hahaha!
Cousin Yates came today to show Grant some moves! This boy is like a little fish! He'd say "Watch HaHa"! I can't wait for the day that Grant smiles when he swims!
Here is a short video of today! Don't mind the screaming!

Easter Weekend!

We had an exciting Easter weekend! We started celebrating on Thursday when Grandpa Frank came over to play! He brought a HUGE basket for Grant! Grant dove right in to all the treats and stuffed animals! On Friday, Papa G came over with a basket that he and DeeDee made! It was filled with lots of Chocolate goodies and a super cute Predators Tshirt! On Saturday, we headed over to Buddy and Grandaddy's for an amazing day! It started off rainy but the Good Lord cleared the day off for us and it was PERFECT! Buddy always has a huge Easter egg hunt, she's carrying on the tradition that Granny and Gpa had for us! I am happy to say that we (meaning I) found the golden egg! Now... I know , I know this is supposed to be "for the kids" but deep down its really a rival that still burns inside of me between my Brother and I! He ALWAYS found it as a kid except for ONE time! I WON! Anyways... I gave the egg to little Tol because he understands that the golden egg is the "big prize" and he got it last year! I was tickled to give it to him but so excited to find that silly egg! I still got the same excitment I did as kid! I know.. Im lame!
On Sunday, we went to church and it was fantastic! Each year our church has a "musical guest" and it was Josh Turner! He was awesome! After church we headed home and Franklin's family came over! Franklin's Mom brought over a little puppy for Grant to play with and he LOVED IT! Also ... we have baby bunnies in our back yard.. how appropriate for Easter! One of them got out and he just sat near the fence the majority of the day!

Here is a slide show of our Easter Celebration! Sorry its so long! Enjoy!

Happy Easter everyone! Last week we took Grant to see the Easter Bunny and as you can see, he LOVED him! I was afraid that he would be "stand-offish" and would cry but he ran right up to him and sd "Abbit".. he laughed and actually cried when we left! I bribed him with a sucker and his "rabbit hat"... worked like a charm!
Buddy went with us and packed us a picnic lunch and we headed over to Granny White Park!

Of course... we wouldn't dream of leaving the house without his sunglasses! Oh.. and I'm well aware that tennis shoes don't go with this outfit.. but hey.. its all I had.. I didnt want him to scuff up his new sandals!
And what a great surprise.. Grandaddy showed up! Grant saw him and was SOOO excited and ran right up to him!

Grant was not at all timid of these older kids.. he just ran right up to them and started playing!

I have yet to figure this out, but when Grant slides... he wont sit up.. he goes down on his back.. very weird!
But.. nevertheless.. he has a blast doing it!

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Grant and Grandaddy have a special little thing they do together.. Grandaddy always take him outside to see the trees! Grandaddy will tickle his face with the leaves so we had to find the ONLY tree with leaves on it! Too bad this isnt close up so you could see Grant's face!
It was a great day and we'll definately have to go back to the park! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Easter! May we all remember the importance of our families and the true meaning of Easter! Thank you Lord for all the many blessings you've given us!
