Update on Bootcamp!

I really wished these pictures were a little bit clearer but they're not! I've had several people ask me how the naptime bootcamp was going.... well let me tell you! We've had more good days than bad but last Friday was a doozie! After thirty minutes of Grant's nap I hear him laughing and playing in his crib. I turn on the video monitor to find him on his hands and stomach looking directly into the camera LAUGHING. I honestly felt like he was laughing in my face saying "I WILL NOT NAP". I couldnt help but find it funny so I went upstairs, turned him back on his back and gave him his passie and sd SHHHH its naptime! Went back down and turned the monitor on and look what I found... YEP.. he's playing again! We did this for an hour and a half!
I really wished the photos would've come out better! He's at least napping an hour in the mornings and an hour and a half to two hours in the afternoon! A vast improvement of two 30 min naps a day! But we're still working on it!

Also....... recently Grant has been very amuzed by "the tongue". He's figured out that he has one too and can stick it out just like we can! Probably not something I should be teaching him, however its very funny to watch. He gets a very serious "concentrated" face as he watches you, then he sticks his out... but its usually to the side!

Look Who's Sittin' Up!

Hurray! Grant is finally sitting up! He's having so much more fun playing now! We've had a few tumbles but he's really starting to get the hang of it! Bathtime is a lot more fun as well! He really didnt know what to think the first time I sat him up... but he's become the King of Splashing!

I have some exciting news! Well.. for me anyways!
By Friday I had had all I could take with Grant and his two 30 minute naps he's been taking and decided NO MORE! So.. .I decided its Naptime Bootcamp for Grant (My friend Emily swears by the naptime bootcamp.. I kept texting her over and over... she kept me strong.. thanks Em)! The Dr sd he should be on two 2hr naps a day. I refreshed myself on the book Babywise and 830.. off to naptime we go. 9am... he's awake.. just like clockwork. I left him in there until he was screaming.. went upstairs gave him his passie.. he closed his eyes and voila... so I thought... this went on every ten minutes until an hour and a half had passed and he finally slept the last half hour. So this morning naptime 830 and at 915 he's up. BUT this time I only went in there 3 times (maybe 4) gave him the passie.. and after the last time he slept till 11:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPEE! At 1pm went down for nap number two.... woke up at 245!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER had to go back in there! Now.. who's to say that tomorrow wont be another screaming match because he's exhausted from our trip to Columbia yesterday! But I am so proud! ITS AMAZING what a 2 hour break can do for you and how much you can get done! PRAY that he continues to sleep till 630 or 7 am and takes his two hour naps! YAY GRANT!

BEABA - Baby Cook!

One of the best gifts I got when I was pregnant with Grant was the Beaba - Baby Cook from Franklin's Aunt Mary Jo and Cousin Rachel! This thing ROCKS! It makes your own baby food without over steaming all of the nutrients out! I was giving Grant the Organic Gerber until I figured out everything he likes... well.. there wasnt anything he didnt like.. I guess thats why he's 22 lbs! haha! Check this out... this picture doesn't give it justice but this is fresh green beans compared to pre packaged! The color is much for vibrant! (For the record Im not saying that premade babyfood is bad for babies! Im just excited about making my own!)

YUM... they were so good! That bowl was ONE PEAR! It filled up two baby jars!

I've also mastered sweet potatoes and carrots! I've been freezing them and the night before I just put two in the fridge and VOILA... its ready that morning! Grant has liked everything I've made but Butternut Squash! He likes regular squash though!!!

PUMP IT UP!!!!!!

Yesterday my Mom and I took Grant and his cousin Tol to Pump It Up in Franklin! This place was SO COOL! They have tons of different inflatable jumpy things with obstacle courses in them! On Friday's they have a special time from 10-12 for children preschool age and under! Its $7 for age 1 and up and let me say.. ITS WORTH IT! The adults can play for free too! WOW.... I had a blast but Im SO OUT OF SHAPE! I have bruises all over me and my bones are sore this morning! I guess thats from the back handspring I did... Yes I know.. IM TOO OLD! My friend, Emily, let me borrow her son's Stage and Grant LOVES IT! It's also helping him learn to sit up on his own! He played for 45 minutes with this the other night! THANK YOU EMILY!

Girls Day and a Boys Day!

Its been a busy week for us!!! Monday Grant and I went to Bowling Green to visit some friends! Rebekah and I have been friends for 5 years, she was my first "real friend" I met when we moved to Bowling Green! We've managed to stay in touch even though we came back to TN! She came down for our wedding and then after she had her baby, I went up there! Her little girl (Savannah Marie) will be 2 in June and she is such a doll! Her little voice when she talks makes me melt! She called Grant "Gint" it was SO CUTE! Here are some pictures from Monday!

After we went to Rebekah's I went to go see my friend Shavon! We worked together at National City! Shavon had a baby girl two weeks ago! Her little girls name is Layah and she looks like a babydoll! I've never seen so much hair!!!! SHe's so tiny.. I loved holding her! I swear she was as big as Grant's head! Which.. he has a big head! HAHAHA!

Then finally a Boy's Day! with Grandpa! Franklin's Dad, Frank, came up and gave me a break! THANK YOU FRANK!!!!!! I ran some errands .. and its truely amazing how much you can get done in an hour when you dont have a kid with you! WOW! I also got about two hours of yard work in!!!! Grant had a great time with him!

Grant's 1st Kiss!

I'm a little behind on my blog! Last Thursday Grant and I went to Columbia to see my best friend and her daughter Allie! Grant and Allie have so much fun together, they dont have a choice in whether they're gonna be friends or not! Elizabeth and I, of course weren't prepared, but got some great entertainment! We didnt have our video cameras "on hand" but we managed to capture it on a cell phone! Allie went in for the kill and was handing out smooches to Grant! At first he loved it and would just laugh but by the time we got in on camera... he had had enough! Whats wrong with you boy? You're getting kisses from a pretty girl! Anyways... here are pictures from the day and the video of the kiss! Her Daddy is STILL in denial! hahaha

A day with Papa G!

Franklin and I had an engagement party to go to on Saturday and so my Dad kept Grant for us! Brave man!!!!! Dad sd he was great and they played hard!!! Here are some pictures from his visit! Thanks Dad for keeping the Wild Man! :)

Dr. Update!

Yesterday Grant turned 6 months... wasnt he just born last week? Where has the time gone? We went for his 6 mth check up yesterday and I am SOOOOOOOOOOO proud of him! He only got two shots yesterday but on the first one he didnt even cry and on the second one he barely cried! My Mom was with me and she's convinced thats why he was so good! I have to agree! He was absolutely perfect! He's getting super tall too.. he weighed in right at 22 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches long! HEALTHY BOY! Here is a picture of Buddy and Grant! I took it with my phone so its blurry! Thanks for the help Buddy!!!!

Grant was so good he got his 1st cookie!!! Its a Biter Cookie for Infants!! He LOVED IT!

We've Been Busy!!!!

Its been a very busy week for us! Sorry I'm behind on my blogging! Yesterday was a BUSY day! Grant and I left the house at 7:30 and didnt get home till about 3! We went to my Mom's house so I could go get my hair done (its only been since OCT.. you can imagine the roots I had!) and so Grant could play with his cousin Tol! Little Tol has been potty training and we're SO PROUD OF HIM! I called him Tuesday and told him if he teetee'd and pooped in the potty at Buddy's that "HaHa" had a surprise for him. Little Tol is obsessed with Monster Jam Trucks so I got him the Green Turtle Monster Jam Truck! Shortly after we got there he sd "HAHA.... I just peepee'd and poopoo'd on the potty" and held up his hand for a High 5... of course I bragged on him and sd "GREAT JOB TOL.. Im SO PROUD".. he sd "Yah.. and I pee'd on the seat... and I touched it"... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW THANKS FOR THE HIGH 5 Bud!!!!!!!! Hahaha.. oh well.. I didnt care I was proud of him! Tol also was teaching Grant his "blessing" he says before dinner and taught him how to say the pledge properly.. see videos! (There's more about our week below!)







So after we left Mom's Grant and I went to Mary Leigh's! Let me just say this... Mary Leigh and I are all about couponing and getting a good deal! She found this massive Meat Sale and called me telling me we couldnt NOT go! So off we went! You can see all the meat we got below.. the pictures dont do it justice! We EACH got about THREE WEEKS (maybe more) of meat for $50 per person! I mean do you realize that some people spend that in a week on meat? We spent over an hour vacuum sealing it!! I only wished I had a picture of Mary Leigh when I handed her a bag (that I THOUGHT I had sealed) and she put hamburger meat in and smashed it all over her shirt.. GOOD SAVE THOUGH! We were so so excited! We got Chicken, Pork (boston butt, pork loin, sausage, and bacon), and Beef!!!!! YAY US!
