ROAD TRIP!

Last Friday Grant and I headed out on a "Mommy/Grant" road trip to see our besties, The Givens!  We haven't seen them since May (?), nonetheless it had been way to long!  The trip started off rough, Grant got up at 5 for some reason that morning and was a grump.  After being on the road an hour I had heard "how much longer until we get there" about a thousand times.  He also started crying about having to go home on Saturday, I thought "Seriously? You're crying about leaving before we even get there? TAKE A NAP".  After an hour nap he woke up happy and excited to see his BFF!  We rolled in to McDonalds (per the boys request) and that's where the fun started!
Both boys missed each others birthday parties so we let them exchange gifts, believe it or not this occupied them ALL AFTERNOON!
After Abby got up they boys continued to play while Emily cooked a FANTASTIC meal and Abby stuck to me!  May I take a moment to say that this was one of my MANY favorite parts of the trip! I mean, lets face it, we all know Im froo froo and would love to have a little girl so when she wanted me, I ate it up!

Grant being "The Hulk"
Abby and I collecting a playlist for the dance party!
Poor Greg took a beating from the boys, such a good sport!
Abby showing Grant who's the boss...
kissin' and makin' up!
After a traditional dance party, some wrestling, and playing super heroes it was time for the kids to call it a night.  Poor Abby wanted to be a part of it but she had to go to her own room, much to her disapproval, nothing a few books didn't take care of though!  The boys were tired and didn't give us any trouble going to bed which was nice, I was prepared to have to tell Grant to get back in bed, ahhh the peer pressure of another adult!
And seriously, what trip would be complete without some girl time?????  Em and I got ready and she took me out to a bar called Catch 22! It was awesome, they made their own infusions for drinks.. very yummy and we stayed out a few hours just catching up and there wasnt ONE silent moment, I can't stress how much I miss that girl! (and the kids too of course)!
The next morning Emily cooked a fun and yummy breakfast completed with some cinnamon roll waffles, YUM!  While the kids played we prepared a picnic for them and then decided to head to the park!  Poor Em had to be taxi driver, Abby asked me to ride in the back with her and sorry.. . but I couldn't resist this face!

LOVE Abby's hair here!  SPeaking of her hair.. Em is such a good sport, she let me pick out Abby's clothes and fix her hair!  I have always wanted to do this but its not near as easy as it looks.. I mean I tried to braid her hair, and it fell out.  So I opted for pigtails and they were a  HOT MESS! I was dying laughing because I figured I would be good at hair.. NOT SO MUCH!  Emily let her wear them until they moreless fell out and she redid them!

LOVE THIS PICTURE!

Abby and Grant had lots of smooching moments!  I'd say an arranged marriage is in order!
Thank you Emily and family for such an awesome visit! Can't wait to see you again soon and we miss you soooo much!

Grant's 4th Birthday Party!

Last Thursday was Grant's 4th birthday and it was an AWESOME day! The night prior Franklin and I blew up tons of balloons and made him this little sign! He was so excited when he got up and requested cinnamon rolls and bacon for breakfast, not my kind of breakfast but whatever the birthday boy wants, right?
We had school that day so I made sure he felt special at school, I made some cookies for snack time and stashed bday msgs in his lunch box!  His teachers are AWESOME and sang to him and made him feel super special and even gave him a little bday goodie! After school we picked up his cake and got ready for our party!

We got to Bounce U and he was BEYOND excited!

This little train ride/roller coaster thing was hysterical.. Cole loved it but the his expressions were priceless!

 Miss Avery, what a DOLL!
There was Tired and then there was Cole!  Delirious he just kept telling everyone, NO!

The Bounce U Party "Pro" (as they call them) was awesome! He went down all the slides with the kids that needed help.  Little Eden, who JUST turned two, wanted to go down the big slide!  This girl has no fear, LOVE HER!

This was the tornado machine, its a machine that has wind up to 80 mph, why kids want to do this, I dont know but they loved it!  I love Noah's face here, he's like.. "I'm not so sure about this"
But.. like all boys they loved it!

 Some of my closest friends!

 LOVE this face!

Eden in the tornado machine.. the funniest part is.. she would cry and then bust out laughing!  AGAIN...super brave girl!

Our boy  had a great party and we appreciate all of our family and friends coming!  He's so tickled to be 4 years old and he has NOT stopped talking about his "Pawty".
