We survived!

Here we are back in August!  My first day working at the preschool, I was more nervous than them!  Not only because I was the "new girl" but also because it was Cole's first year and he would be across the hall from me! I have to admit that it was an INCREDIBLE year.  The first couple of months I thought "What on earth have I signed up for" but as Phyllis and I got into our routine and learned each baby, I began to fall in love with each one!  We have a great team effort in our class and we get along great and I'm happy to say I am super excited about next year!  Grant LOVED his teachers and his class and I never had issues getting him to go to school.  Cole, on the other hand, cried 80% of every drop off.  I didnt help that his class was DIRECTLY across from mine and he could see me, we also had chapel and music or any other activity together, thankfully next year that wont happen! I'm also very proud of him because I had major reservations about him napping on a mat and they told me he was the best one!  I look at these pictures and see an incredible difference in all of us (Lord help me I needed my roots done in the first pic!), but the boys changed a ton!

I'm so happy to be a part of the Calvary staff and for my kids to attend such an awesome program!  Looking forward to August, but in the meantime I will be enjoying sleeping past 5am on Tues/Thurs! :)

End of the Year Programs

These past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind and have flown by.  We have had both boys "End of the year" programs and "Mommy and Me" breakfast...  first up was Cole's program, they did the music n motion (the one I blogged about that we did for his bday), of course he's not sitting  with his class, he's sitting with mine.  We never mastered not sitting with Mommy, oh well....
To this day I DO NOT know where he got this face........
As soon as he got on stage and sat down this is what he did??? I have no idea why and have NEVER seen him do it before..
There is a song called "Doobie Duck".. well Doobie changes colors and when he came out he was green, and Cole was TICKED that he was not blue.. look at that scowl..

now he's mad at Teddy Anne....
This went on for most of the program..
Then the woodpecker song came on and he was excited.... he got to tap his sticks... or.. well....  use them as antennas .. its whatever.

Next up was the Mommy and Me breakfast... it was AWESOME...
When we walked in to the sanctuary they had all the Mommy and Me photos displayed on the tables....
 awesome table of food...
 sweet Mommy signs...
 .......
The breakfast was delicious and I couldn't have been more proud of my babies!

As I walked Grant back to his class there was a huge paper flower that read "My Mommy loves to......" and Grant wrote "Snuggle with me".. he nailed that one on the head!  Some of these were hilarious. One kid wrote "Lie down because her back hurts", one kid wrote "Do laundry and talk to her friends".. so funny!

Then finally Grant's program. We had some issues with him singing.. he HATED the Tootie Tot song... I think its goofy too but he REFUSED to do the moves and sing it.  He sd it was "Gross" and about "butts"... Hystercial!  The song is really dumb in my opinion (although a lot of people like it) but I told him that in life we are gonna have to do things that make us feel uncomfortable and things we don't like, but the fact is, we have to obey.  I told him IF he chose to obey that I would take him for Bubble Gum ice cream after school.  He obeyed... but man he did NOT want to do that song..

He loved the Annie Apple song .. had no troubles there!

He did a great job and definitely earned his ice cream!
Papa and DeeDee were in Murfreesboro that day and got to come watch...  Papa peeked in Coles room and got spotted and naturally he ran out of his class yelling "PAPA"

After the program we headed back to Grant's classroom for a donut party... such a great time!

Its really been an AWESOME YEAR! SO blessed to be a part of the Calvary staff and proud my kids go to such a great school!

Mothers Day 2013

I love Mother's Day! Its the one day of the year where I feel like all my hard work has paid off, I feel proud of my kids and of our accomplishments, its such a special day to me!  Its also the time I have to reflect on how much my sweet Mother and Grandmother have sacrificed for us, without them, we wouldn't exist nor would I have the "know how" of how to be a Mom!
Franklin got me this new swing for our back porch! I have been wanting one for a VERY long time and it was the PERFECT gift!  We had my Mom, Kelly and Tol and their boys over for burgers and outside fun!  We certainly missed my Granny and Grandpa this year and were sad they were not up to coming.  Maybe next year :( We also missed Franklin's Mom and Grandma.
It was MUCH cooler than I thought when  I went outside and Cole told me he needed a hat, and this is what he picked out... what a NUT!
 Sweet cousins...

 I LOVE THESE BOYS!!!!!!
Buddy and the boys... and Banjo!
 Kelly and her boys..
 Tol reading everyone a story!

Little Tol has a loose tooth and his Dad tried to work on it.. I couldn't watch... ugh.. the popping noises gave me "the willies" ... and for the record.. the tooth is still in his mouth.
Cole is obsessed with playing in the water.  I almost dread coming outside because its ALL he wants to do and its such an ordeal to have wet clothes, take them off, dry him off, get dry clothes etc.  But LITERALLY after the 100th time of him asking "Wa-wa.. ON", I finally gave in.  This lasted a good hour and it was FREEZING and he did NOT care.

After it warmed up the other boys stripped down and got in to a water fight.... Im freezing just looking at this!
Someone couldn't handle being left out!

Nothing like sweet naked baby cuddles!

It was a great day! Thanks to our Mama's and Grandmama's for all they do! LOVE YOU

Grant's Gymnastics Fun Meet

We've had Grant in gymnastics for a while now! He's so tall, we thought it would help with his coordination and it has!  He had his first "meet"  this past Friday morning and we are so proud of him!  Papa and DeeDee came to watch him too!

Poor fella... he was the ONLY boy in his group (there are 4 boys in his actual class) and he was a LOT taller.  Im sure other parents were trying to figure out why a "7 year old" was in their class... nope folks.. he's just 4!
Cole was the little entertainer himself.. he kept giving people "bumps" and couldn't figure out why he couldn't do gymnastics too?? He takes on Tues afternoons but he cries until I get out of site so I didn't think this meet would go over well for him.  Oh well.. he was a pesky little sucker for that hour and a half!

He's DESPERATELY trying to sneak over to the balance beam.. LOOK at that face! He KNOWS!
It didn't help that Grant was doing this to him and yelling "Hey Bubba"
Grant did great at all of his events.. he did floor, beam, trampoline and the Cpt Hook bars!

I loved that he would "present" before and after each routine!
 SO PROUD!

Not sure what was going on here! hahah

I have never been so proud of my sweet boy... he was THRILLED to get his trophy and was SO very proud of it!

 Grant and Coach Dean

What a great way to start the weekend, we're proud of our sweet boy! :) (Both of them! ).
