WE DID IT!

We did it! We survived our first day of school with flying colors!!! We started out the morning with pictures on the front porch (just as Tol and I did as kids) which didnt turn out like I had hoped but his little backpack (or "pickpack" as he calls it) was weighing him down!

He loves his new lunch box and carried in and out of school! :)

I, unfortunately, didn't get any pictures at school. It was so crowded and chatoic and I was in no mood to try to take them! The entire way to school he kept saying "GO... "Soooool" ,meaning go to school, then he would say "Peacha's..... Ambo" which means his TEACHER is Miss Amber! hahah! The other Teachers name is Miss Katrina, I dont think he'll be saying that one anytime soon.

Anyways, we get to school and his friend, Nate, pulls up beside him and he's so excited! Both boys basically run in the building excited to play! We get to his room and I have the biggest lump in my throat and pounding sensation in my chest and a clouded view of his room! We get to the door, he RUNS in with a huge grin on his face and goes right to the toys (baby doll) that he played with at Open House. His Teachers looked at me and sd "Ok, thats it", I sd "Oh.. I leave now, sorry". I go give Grant a hug and a kiss and reassure him that I will be back to get him. He could CARE LESS! He was so happy! Franklin and I left and I was so happy he wasnt upset. I went to the lobby, shed a few tears and then left with Emily to go meet Casey for a "BooHoo Brunch"!

After brunch, I ran home to pick up a few things, and then left again for some errands. I got home about 45 minutes until time to pick him up and by this time I was about to go stir crazy! The house was quiet, I missed him terribly, couldnt stop thinking about if he napped, did he cry, did he miss me, and was he good? We have to pick them up by 2:30 and I was in the parking lot at 2:08 and was in the building at 2:10, I couldn't take it any longer. His door was shut so I peaked through the window and saw him laughing and playing! I opened the door and he yelled "Mommy" and ran up to me! That might have been the best hug EVER! I asked his teachers "Well... how did it go" and they sd "He did AWESOME"! Apparently he never once cried, although they sd he whimpered "Mommy" a few times. She told me he was such a good boy, and ate a good lunch! Then came the long awaited question... "DId he nap on his mat"... HE DID!!!!!!!!!!! She sd it was a little bit of a struggle to get him to be still but he napped for about 45 minutes, which was way beyond what I expected! HALLELUJAH we survived our 1st day! I got home to find his "report" in his folder and their activities of the day!

They studied the letter "A" and here was the picture he colored!

I dont know if you can read it, but this is the report I got! I LOVE IT!

For a job well done, he got an icecream cone! :)

I will say, he was absolutely exhausted yesterday afternoon and was in bed asleep at 7:30! Next Tuesday will be a much easier transition for us both!

For the Grandparents.. here is his schedule each day!

9:00-9:20 - drop off and a welcome activity

9:20-9:40 - Snack/Clean up

9:40-9:45 - Potty break/diaper changes

9:45 -10:00 - Bible Story/Music

10:20-10:25 - Potty Break

10:25-10:50 - Gym/Outside

10:50-11:25 - Group Activity/Crafts

11:25-11:30 - Potty Break

11:30-12:00 - Lunch

12:00-12:10 - Potty Break

12:10-12:30 - Storytime

12:30-2:00 - Nap

2:00-2:30 - Prepare to go home!

Ready or Not!

Ready or not.. its coming next week! Grant is starting his Mother's Day Out Program for two days a week (T/Th from 9-2) and for months I've been saying "I am so ready" and now that its next week... not so much! I mean, I'm ready because I think he gets bored at home and interaction with new friends and adults will be great for him, and I love that its in a church setting! The part of me that isn't ready is the fact that it means he's truly a "Big Boy"! So.... in honor of that, I have been buying him new stuff for school, starting with a new haircut today! This is the before shot:

And the final haircut! I love it because its short but he still has his sweet curls! I couldn't go TOTALLY BIG BOY!

Next comes the nap mat! I had my friend, Julie, make this for me and its so cute! Here is an upclose shot of the top of the mat and the cute pattern!

The mat folded up, check out the handle at the top that makes it easy to carry! I love it!

The mat unfolded, with a pillow!!! I absolutely love this, but I get so tickled trying to picture him actually laying on this and sleeping! All I have to say is... I pray for his teachers! :)

Next comes the lunch box! I can't believe I'll be packing a little lunch! I'm really hoping he gets in a classroom where there is no Peanut Allergies so we can do PB&J's!

His backpack... its about as big as him! Oh well.. he'll grow in to it, and its cute!

I am so proud of him and hope he enjoys his new school!

We have orientation on Tuesday night and then his first day is on Thursday! I know he'll do just fine but I know it will be so hard for me! I can't believe how fast time has gone by and what a handsome good boy he's become! Stay tuned to see pics of his first day! (That is assuming I can see through the tears to take the pics!hahahah)!

These past few weeks have been somewhat trying, Grant is cutting two of his bottom "2 Yr Molars" and WOW.... the boy does NOT want to sleep... AT ALL! I depend on his naps.. not only for my own sanity but to get things done that I can't do when he's awake. This weekend he did not nap ... EVER. I have to admit... even without a nap he was full of laughter and high spirits.. Thank the Good Lord! Since he'd been good (minus the no-napping!) we let him have his occasional Crush drink! He was so cute with it that I couldn't help taking a short video!

A Playdate with Noah!

Today my friend Ashley brought her son, Noah, over for a playdate! She's 36 weeks pregnant (come on Eden... we can't wait to meet you sweet girl!) and has been taking Noah with her to the Dr's office ... after she told me that I told her I would gladly watch Noah for her during her appts so she could go in peace! But really, it helps me too... it keeps Grant entertained so its a win win situation!

The boys laughed and played hard! I don't know what they were talking about in the Handy Manny Tent but they were giggling like little girls!

Pretty sure Grant is trying to boss him right here, sorry Noah!

After all that "camping" in the tent they needed a snack! Sometimes there is nothing like some good ol' fruit chews!

You can barely see it in this picture but thet were holding honds, so cute!

It was getting close to lunch so I headed to the kitchen to make the dough for my pizza... I stopped and realized... "Its mighty quiet in here... what are they doing". I sd "Boys... where are you".. I heard some serious giggles come from my bathroom... walked in to find this:

YEP.. they were in the shower! Thank goodness they didnt figure out how to turn the water on! But they thought it was hilarious! I opened the door and Noah grinned really big and sd "BOOO"... I couldn't help but die laughing!

I let them close the door one or two more times and grabbed another cute picture and that was it for the shower, thankfully they went for some books instead!

After some reading it was time for Pizza and they gobbled it up!

Grant crashed at about 12:45... so THANK YOU to Noah for wearing out Grant! And thanks to Ashley for letting him come over and play! They were so good to each other and its so precious to see how they've grown from babies to "little boys"!!! Its a little sad too!

PARTY TIME!

Happy Birthday to sweet Allie! On Saturday we headed to Jump Zone, in Franklin, for Allie's 2nd Birthday Party!

Grant was SO excited! The entire way down he was saying "Pah-ty.... Allie.... CAKE..." then he would say "BE NICE.... Friends". (We've had a little hitting problem lately so we are constantly telling him to be nice to his friends!).

He had a blast running and jumping, I had a good time too but suddenly realized my age! Whew, my body just doesnt bend and twist like it used to! Gracious!

Next was picture time! Grant would NOT line up with the other children in front of the fire truck.. instead he did this:

Yep.. thats MY BOY .. look how nice all the other children are being.. and then there's Grant.. sprawled out in the floor! Franklin and I couldn't help but laugh.. what were we supposed to do?

Finally I bribed him by telling him "Grant.. if you will sit down and take the picture.. you can have cake". He smiled and sd "CHEESE"

Of course that only lasted for a few good shots, then he decided it was time to do the "crab walk"!

All the kids were hot and sweaty.. so the ice cream was a perfect treat before opening presents!

It was a great party and we had a blast! On the way home Grant kept telling us about Allie's "Hello Kitty" cake! He sd "Cake.. Purple... Kitty, MMMM GOOD"! Pretty sure we heard that 100 times that night!!! My little Party Animal!
