A quick trip!

Couldn't this face just brighten up your day? Exactly! Franklin's Grandparents & Uncle Jeff needed a little "pick me up", so I decided to load up Grant and take him to Ohio for a quick visit! Franklin had to work so I called "Gpa Frank" and asked him to ride with me because I knew I couldn't survive a 7 hour car ride by myself! I have to admit I was somewhat dreading the ride but thanks to Grandpa and Emily's protable DVD Player he was PERFECT... well.. minus the massive blowout diaper that went EVERYWHERE! Thats entirely another story, we encountered 6 of those on our trip, I'll spare you the details! ANYWAYS...we had a wonderful visit and Grant really was good.. he didnt nap AT ALL but he was in a strange place and to be honest he was in a great mood the entire time so as long as he was happy I didnt mind. Grandma and I took him to an apple orchard and they also had pumpkins.. Grant is crazy about his "APS", he loves them! He likes for you to take the peel off and then he'll eat the entire thing down to the core (YES.. I know.. thats what caused the blowouts!).
Grant also "named" Grandma and Grandpa.. out of nowhere he started calling her "GG" and him "Papaw".. so cute! Anyways.. we had a great time and I hope that we cheered them up! Special prayers to Uncle Jeff as he starts his treatment today.. we love you VERY MUCH!
Here is a slideshow of our trip!

Walden's Pumpkin Farm!

Today we took Grant to Walden's Pumpkin Farm, in Smyrna! It was such a great place, they had farm animals, hay rides, corn mazes, face painting, crafts, homemade goodies, apple cider, and all kinds of fun stuff! We got out of the car and Grant kept saying "AP AP AP AP"... meaning "apple" ... he thought there were apples everywhere! Silly boy! Unfortunately it started to drizzle and it was muddy so our time was cut short. He did pretty good.. he wanted to get down and crawl around so bad but I wouldnt let him. He loved all the pumpkins and esp this little baby pig that came up to him.. it was precious!

I had him dressed so cute thinking it would be a nice sunny cool day but it got cold so he looks a little "homely" in his gray hat, brown coat, and flannel shirt.. he didnt match at all! Oh well.. boys will be boys, right? All in all we had a great time and cant wait to go back next year when he can walk! Enjoy the slide show!

RAINY DAY PLAY DATES!

Last week my friend, Emily, invited Casey and I over with our boys to play on yet another rainy day! We were all about to go stir crazy with all of this yucky weather (hallelujah for sunshine in the forecast this week!)! I love this picture above because not only are all the boys playing nice but it screams "GOOD NAP" to me!!! Nothing like a good playdate to wear out your kid!!!!

I think this picture is so cute.... Nate is waving "Hi How-wee"

These next two pictures are hilarious! Casey's son, Will, can really jam on a guitar! His Daddy, T.J., is a musician and I think he got his Daddy's talents!

He's even singing and jamming at the same time! You GO WILL! (I forgot what he was singing.. but it was really funny and sweet!! I think it was "BaBa Black Sheep" but I could be wrong!)

Grant was OBSESSED with this fridge toy.. I have to have one!

Instead of putting the toys in the basket to help clean up... he thought he'd just sit in it!!!!

It was a great playdate! Thanks Em for having us over!

The Rainforest Cafe!!!

Yesterday was an absolute BLAST! I had to take Grant to Opry Mills to get some shoes! They have a Stride Rite outlet there, YIPEE!!! Being that he wears a size 6 EXTRA WIDE we HAVE to get his shoes there, and they can be super pricey! Anyways, I thought he would love The Rainforest Cafe (since his favorite animal is a Bird!) and I called his Papa G and DeeDee to see if they wanted to meet us! After getting him two pairs of shoes we took him to eat and BOY DID HE LOVE IT! Anything that remotely resembled a bird, he would point and say "Birt, Birt, Birt".. he was mesmorized and so excited! The food was a bit pricey but if your kids like animals its a very fun place to go!

He loved all of the fish.. he would point and say "Shish"
or "Wsat"? for What's that?

This picture is hilarious to me... because every 10 minutes these monkey's "come to life" and swing from branches and do their "monkey call".. Grant would do this face and gasp and go "OOOOH OOOH OOOH OOH" like a monkey would.. it was HYSTERICAL!

Watching the monkey's swing!

Still in complete shock of all the fun stuff going on!

But dont worry.. my child is never to distracted to clean his plate!

The best part of The Adventure.........
It wore him out!

We had a great time!!!! We're definately going back!

First Haircut!

Today we went for Grant's 1st Haircut! I was a nervous wreck and worried all night about it! I KNOW.. its stupid.. but its just another reminder that I have a "big boy" not a baby! Not to mention, my biggest fear was that he'd lose those beautiful curls! Above and below are some pictures I took last night to show you how shabby his hair was... it was ROUGH and needed some shaping!

My friends, Emily and Leah, both go to the same girl and sd she is great at listening at what you want her to do and isnt very expensive, those are two very important staples in gettnig a haircut! Anyways, they had this super cute little pony the kids can sit on when they get their hair cut... Terra was running late so by the time she got there Grant had had enough of the pony.. so unfortunately I dont have pictures of him on it! However.. two suckers and a pack of Smarties later we completed the trim! He was a VERY good boy and just laughed when he saw himself in the mirror! Here are some pictures of his haircut!
I thought this was precious, he even got a certificate!!!!

He was SO STICKY from the suckers and his lunch that I decided to give him a bath before his nap! So his hair is still wet and it looks shorter here than it actually is!

YIPEE... we still have curls!

All in all it was a good day! No tears from him or Me! :) OH .. an yes... I have the first "snip" in a ziplock baggie!

Standing Stone Park!

Well I officially have a new favorite picture of my sweet little boy!!!!!!
This weekend we took Grant to Monterey, TN to Standing Stone to watch his Uncle Sam play music at an Indian Festival/Tribute. Sam is a very talented musician and amongst playing with his regular band, he also played some Tribal Music this weekend! It was aboslutely BEAUTIFUL! The weather was cold and rainy but we still had a great time! Grant pee'd in his pants so bad that it soaked through two layers of clothes, thank goodness I had an extra set in the car!

Watching the Festival with Daddy and Grandma!

UNCLE SAM!!!!!!

Dancing with Grandma!

Playing Peek-a-boo with Mommy while Gma held him!

A Little Visitor!

One of my nephews, Tol, came to visit us for a couple of days! Before we had Grant, he used to stay with us often! Now that he's 3 he can help with Grant and is easy to entertain! I've been taking Grant to a play group on Tuesday's at the Discovery Center and I knew that little Tol would love it! So.. I asked his Mama and Daddy if we could have him for a couple of days so we could take him and spend some time with him. I have to say, I really miss him and I know Grant does to! He was great entertainment for us all and kept Grant very busy, in fact Grant has tried really hard to walk on his own this week! We got some fun pictures from his visit so I thought I would share!

This picture is hilarious to me.. I was in the kitchen and new Tol was on the potty. All of a sudden I heard both boys giggling and thought "OH NO.. "... and here is what I walked in on.. I thought it was priceless!

Tol calls me "HaHa" and calls Franklin "Unkil Frankin"! Those two boys have a special little bond too, Im not sure who was more exhausted at the end of the night!

To entertain the boys while I cleaned up the kitchen (gosh they're messy!) I turned on Tol's favorite, Thomas the Train, and gave them an apple... Believe it or not Grant ate the entire thing down to the core! Way to be a healthy influence Tol!

Because Tol was on perfect behavior and always picked up the toys (Kelly.. I know our boys act different for us because we're their Mother's.. but I promise he really was perfect, I just hope he wasnt a stinker when he got home!), I rewarded him with cupcakes! He got to go to Publix and pick out his own cupcakes and icing! OF COURSE he picked the Funfetti with sprinkles! He did a great job decorating the cupcakes and they were yummy too!

The sugar is kicking in!!!!!!!

THE DISCOVERY CENTER!
Here is Tol doing the months of the year " Macarena" dance the kids do!

Grant is OBSESSED with this mailbox in "Tiny Town".. he goes straight for it as soon as I put him down! He loves opening and closing the door and handing me the mail!

This is my friend Emily's little boy, Nate! He was putting "pepper" on his pretend food! I thought this was so cute, I had to share it!

Grant playing with the trains!

Now he's in the "Home Depot" in "Tiny Town".. he's getting ready to paint!

Tol LOVED the "Music Store" in "Tiny Town"... he was banging the fire out of those drums!

The boys played with this train set for a good 30 minutes!! That place is SO entertaining!

After playing hard at The Discovery Center, Papa G treated us all to a lunch at Chick-fil-a, Grant naturally traded his toy for an ice cream cone! He really enjoyed it... in this picture he's eating it in his carseat and saying "Good" every other bite! Precious!
