Happy Anniversary/Birthday!

Happy 61st Anniversary to my fantastic Grandparents, how cute are they! Also on Wed, will be Grandpa's 89th birthday! So on Sunday Mom had everyone over to celebrate the occasions. The weather could not have been more perfect!

Grant made his rounds.. he started off with Grandaddy

Then to Grandpa....
And then apparently shared a book and a booger with Granny!
Sweet Yaters!
Cousin Wesley, he's so precious!
Grandpa and all his Great-Grandsons!
After a delicious lunch we all headed outdoors for some play time..

I'm not sure what is going on here, but it looks like Grant is bossing Wesley!

Taking Lula or "Wuda" as Grant would say for a walk!

Bein' Buddy's helper!
Me (8 months pregnant - its funny how you never realize how big you are until you see a pic) with Granny and Gpa!

We had a great day and a wonderful time visiting with everyone. I had made a homemade coconut cake (that's Gpa's FAVE) and I have to admit, it was divine.. best one ever. I cut off a huge hunk for Gpa to take home and saved a pc for us to bring back. I have to admit, I could not WAIT to get home and have another pc of that cake (esp since Grant had eaten most of my piece and Franklin's), when all of a sudden this little TWIT decided to slam on her brakes for no apparent reason and there went my beautiful cake stand with my coconut cake crashing in to the floor board. I really almost cried, who cares about the mess, I wanted that friggin' cake! Oh well, other than that, the day was great!

Random Post!

Not much has been going on around here lately, we are happy to be back in school and back in to our normal routine! I feel like Grant changes and says something new everyday, he amazes me and MOSTLY in a good way (except for maybe today when he told the checkout woman at Kroger "Dont talk to me lady"... NICE)! Haha.. but most of the time he's funny and sweet! I haven't had anything to blog about lately so I posted some cute random pics I have!
These glasses crack me up, they can be sunglasses or open up to regular glasses! Also, the hat Grant has on.. his Daddy got it for him. When Franklin first brought it home, Grant wanted nothing to do with it until his Grandaddy came over and told him he liked it. Franklin told him it wasnt a youth hat, it was an Adult hat and that Grant didnt like it and he could have it. Much to our surprise Grant runs and gets it and says "NO.. Dats my hat, my Daddy give it to me" and has worn it a TON since then! (OH.. and excuse his outfit, he must have had an accident that day cause clearly he doesnt match).
And this last picture I found funny, we had a pladate with Nate and both boys were outfitted in their flannels! Arent they super handsome?

Tennessee Snow

Two weeks ago we had a big snow, well... for Middle Tennessee anyways! I love the snow and was super excited about it, except for the fact that Grant missed another week of school. But he absolutely loved it! As you can see from the picture above he was a little confused on how to walk when he first went out but then the little boy in him came out!

I love this picture, my two favorite boys! Franklin and Grant threw many snowballs and Grant would say "Hey Dad, I hit you on da butt"!

Going for a walk!
This was a little rock pile and Grant sd he had to "Climb da mountain"!
We had a great time playing in the snow! Its snowed a few times since then and I never thought I would say this but Im ready for Spring! I usually love the snow but being trapped in for a few days can make you go stir crazy. I now understand (somewhat) how Franklin's Grandparents feel, they live in Ohio and after about a week of snow, they're usually over it! I got my taste for this winter!

My Little Chatter Box!

Over the past couple of weeks Grant has really become verbal. Yes, he's talked for a long time now but his little imagination is starting to churn and the phrases he comes up with make me smile! I thought I would share.

ME: Grant, do you need to go potty?
GRANT: No, I'm fine Mom

Me: Grant, lets eat
G: No Mom, I dont have time for dat

Random Person: Hey little man, I sure like that hat
G: Dats my special hat, my Dad give it to me

Me: Hey boys, whatcha doin? (G and Franklin were playing in his room)
G: NO MOM.. go downstairs, go wash dishes

Me: Grant, you have 5 more minutes before bed
G: Pwease Mom, just twenty five more mins

Me: Grant.. get in that bed right now, do you understand?
G: (As he sits up and points his finger at me) OK MOM.. I unda-stand

Jessica: Hey Grant, did you get new sheets on your bed?
G: Yah.. dey smell like strawberries

Emily: Grant, did you play in the snow?
G: I throw a snowball at Daddy's butt.

Me: Grant.. we will go play with your friend if you can be nice. Do not hit or push or you will get a timeout.. do you understand?
G: OK OK... I Promise Mom, I no hit or push

Me: Come on Charlie Brown (or whatever nickname we are using for the day)
G: NO.. I not Charlie Brown.. its me (as he pats his chest)... its Grant May-well

When he sees his picture "Hey... Dats me"

Yesterday when Franklin was tickling him on the bed "NO DAD... dat makes me nerbous" (Nervous)! I think he got that from my Mom because she sd the other night it made her nervous him jumping on the bed! HAHAH

and my favorite...

We were at the grocery store and he was in the cart, the bagger pulls the buggy up to load the groceries and Grant says " OH NO Guy... Dats MY MOM, Stop it Guy"!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

The Joys of Potty Training

Check out my little stud muffin in his new "Unda-wea" as he calls it! The past week and a half we have been potty training. I have to admit being a Mother is the most rewarding and wonderful job I have ever had, but I have to say that Potty Training has been my least favorite and definately NON glamerous part of Mothering! I seeked advice from many book/websites and mostly friends! A big THANK YOU to Emily and Casey for all of the texts/emails/calls of encouragement and advice!

We started out by getting "Potty Ready" by getting an "Elmo goes Potty" DVD which Grant loved and I have to admit is pretty funny, plenty of reading material for the bathroom, many pairs of fun underwear, a Potty Chart for "Way to go and OH NO'S" to show our progress and two Candy Jars.. one for "Tee Tee Treats"(Skittles) and one for "Poopy Treats" (M&M's)
We started off last Monday... and I had NO IDEA what I was in for! He used the potty 14 times and had 4 accidents, not bad! I was EXHAUSTED by the end of the day. Tuesday was an awesome day, no accidents at all but again, I was still taking him to the potty every 15-30 minutes. THEN CAME WEDNESDAY.... Oh Wednesday.. this was the worst of them all. I had forgotten something important that Casey told me and that was "It gets worse before it gets better".. I figured, he didnt have any accidents yesterday, he should be good today too! WRONG. You name it, he did it in his little unda-weah's! His attitude was "I dont care" and nothing seemed to inspire him. However, as the week progressed so did he. We were dang near stir crazy being stuck in the house for 4 days so Franklin came home and let me go to the gym and let off some steam! Then we ventured out for dinner and he did GREAT! We are slowly but surely getting there! He has only had one accident (yesterday) since Saturday! Very proud of him. I still have to remind him, he's not great at telling me and we have to go potty everywhere we go (Thank you Emily for the travel potty seat!) but hopefully in the next week or so we'll be trained! And as Casey sd "The book that say it takes 2-3 days.. its ALL LIES"! Well.. that is if you're kid is under 2 1/2!
Here is a picture of our potty chart.. you can see we started losing interest!

And I couldn't resist this picture.. hysterical! We may have a new Calvin Klein model.. Strike a Pose!
