Fun In The Sun!

Last Thursday I took Grant over to my Dad's for the afternoon! My two nephews came over to play in the "kid pool" and have special treats! Grant wasnt thrilled at first,I think he thought it was time for a swimming lesson (hahah!), but once he got in he had a big time!

The neighbors little girl and boy both came over to play, Grant loved her!

Popsicle time!

He didnt stay to long in the pool, the older kids were splashing and he got mad! He loved playing in the grass!

WOOOOOOOHOOOOO Lounge Lizard!

What sunny is complete without icecream? Not sure what was going on with my facial expression!

It doesn't take much ....

... to amuze me! Its my first year to have my very own veggie garden!!!!!!! Yes, I live in a neighborhood and I have a garden... call me Redneck, I dont care! I have 8 tomato plants, 4 squash, 4 pickle cucumber, 4 okra, 8 different peppers plants, and onions! I also have strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, 2 different apples, and pears! Im trying not to be to optomistic because it seems as though every plant that comes in my path dies! That is... until yesterday I went looking around and found a ripe strawberry!!!!!!!!! WOOOHOOO.. I was like a kid on Christmas Day, I was so excited! I picked that little dude, washed it off, and ate it... and man was it sour! Here are some pictures! DONT LAUGH!

We've also been building a stone patio (hence all the equipment and tools in the yard).... let me rephrase... FRANKLIN has been building us a patio! Its been a thorn in our backside.. Im thinking of naming it Lucifer! Just kidding... we just couldnt seem to ever get the guy who promised to help to come over, so my ever so talented husband built it himself! That will be another post when we get some landscaping done! Franklin did an AWESOME job and finished it yesterday! I cant wait to enjoy it and get some furniture and have many meals outside!

Here is my Half bordered garden!

I tried to get up close, but it didnt work! But if you look REALLY CLOSE you can see a tomato on top blooming!

This is my lemon tree! See my ONE lemon!!!

Blueberries

Strawberries!

This was the first one I picked! I was so proud!!!!

Graduation Day!!!!

TA..DA........ My sweet little baby can swim!!!!!!!!! Last Friday he "Graduated" from ISR! It was such a bittersweet day! What will I do with him during the mornings now? Will I still get a good afternoon nap? hahah... I will actually really miss this class, its amazing to see how fast babies can learn survival skills! Above is a picture of Grant under water as if he had "fallen in".
He had to be put in the pool completely clothed to make sure he could still float and survive with the weight of wet clothes.. let me tell you.. his diaper alone weighed about 15 lbs... goes to show how much you can get out of a diaper! hahah I also had to get in to the water with him the last day! It was SO HARD.. I hated "dropping" him and he looked at me like "NO.. What are you doing to me???" But he still did excellent! I posted a video at the end!!!!
Grant and Cousin Tol floating together!
Me ... Scared to death!
Daddy to the rescue!

Here Kelly placed a jacket over his face to make sure he was able to move it off his face! As you can see... He did!

OOPS... he lost a Croc! Oh and for the record.. that was not his outfit and Im fully aware it doesnt match! I forgot a jacket for him and thats what I found in the car!!! The important part is he's floating unassisted fully clothed!
A little mad at Aunt Kelly.. but he does love her SO MUCH!
SUCKER TIME for excellent floating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeeDee came to watch!

Here is the video! Enjoy

Strawberry Pickin'

Every weekend the same question comes to mind... "What do you want to do"... walking in and out of the same stores over and over just becomes boring. Franklin decided we need to try to be more adventurous and do more stuff outside and make an effort to find things locally! Last year we took one of our nephews to pick strawberries in Portland, TN but this year we wanted to find something closer to home. So we did a search and found a strawberry farm in the Bell Buckle/War Trace area! We had an absolute BLAST! Grant loved it... he actually picked his own strawberry and mashed it in his hands! He was was so overwhelmed by all the strawberry plants... I love his "Concentration" face!

Hmmm.... how do I get over there????

Reach for it....

GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!

Oh.. and here is another one!
YUM...... I know he's not technically at the age to have strawberries but I couldnt NOT let him have it.. after all.. he did pick it himself! He LOVED IT!

And.. the best part about pickin strawberries! A GOOD NAP!

OH... and the homemade strawberry popsicles... OH MY.... they were delicious!

Here is a little video of Grant picking his first strawberry!

My 1st Mother's Day!

Despite Grant's grouchy face here this might possibly have been one of the most memorable days of my life! Grant was so sweet on Mother's Day! I have to admit that I've never felt more special in my life! Mother's Day gave me this awesome feeling that no other holiday can offer! I have a wonderful loving husband who gave me a little angel, and I thank God each and everyday for putting both of them in my life!!
It seems like my Mom has everyone over for each holiday and even though this was my 1st Mother's Day I decided to give her a break and I would have the party this year! We had about 18 people at our house but it was so fun! Franklin grilled hamburgers and everyone else brought a dish to help out! This was my Strawberry Limeade cake that I made, and I must say.. it was a hit!
"Blood of my blood" is a quote that my Granny often uses! I look at this picture and that day looked around the room to see a house full of family and to know that it all started with Granny and Grandpa! Pretty amazing!
We were also so happy to have Franklin's Mom, Grandma, come join in as well! After all without her, I wouldnt have Franklin or Grant! :)
Of course even though it was Mother's Day.... I had to have a picture of my favorite boys!
Granny's special time with each of the boys is feeding time! She got to feed Grant his pears!
I wished this picture would have turned out better! I mean, its GREAT of Toby and Yates but Yates' hair was absolutely hilarious when he woke from his nap!
About a year ago little Tol came to spend the night with us and Franklin always tries to find new and exciting things to do, like pitting cherries! To this day Tol still talks about pitting cherries with "Frankin"! Of course Franklin wouldnt let a little fella down and had some "pittin" time with Tol!

Grant loves his cousins! He watches them carefully and then cracks up laughing!
Grandma usually comes with a new treat and this time she brought Grant a new bath toy and he LOVED IT!
Grants Great Uncle Richard and Aunt Rhonda bought him the faucet cover before he was even born and he LOVES IT! He likes to flip its hat up and down!
