Fudgepop and a Tent!

Since we have had interesting weather lately Franklin and I have been trying to come up with fun stuff to do with Grant, esp on the weekends. Leave it to Daddy to be the creative one... he got out his camping tent and set it up in the den and man was it a hit! It took up the entire den but thats ok.. Grant LOVED IT!

He loved taking his books and stuffed animals in there with him!

This particular night I was not allowed in the tent, he screamed when I came in there and would push me.. EXCUSE ME for entering the man cave!

It was definately "Daddy night" because he surprised Grant with good old fashioned fudgepops and Grant went crazy over those! We stripped him down to just his pants because I knew it would be messy! This next picture was just too cute to pass up!

Needless to say he LOVED it but was NOT happy when it was all gone!
We had a great night camping out and I wished I could post the other pictures but due to all the Perverts in this world I can't. But I can tell you about it! We were getting close to bathtime and Grant had a dirty diaper so I changed him and thought "eh... I hate to waste a diaper.. he just went so he'll be fine". So he rode his 4wheeler naked and would run in and out of the tent naked! It was a site to see and HILARIOUS! But the funniest part was when he went in the tent and it got quiet and suddenly Franklin and I heard it "raining" in the tent and Grant sd "teetee"! I went in the tent only to find a nice puddle! I have to say.. it was easier than having to clean it up if he would've gone on the carpet! Boys will be boys!

Jibberish!

We have been loving this warm weather and being able to play outside, it makes us super excited for spring, minus the allergies! Grant was having such a good time outside yesterday and was yelling, laughing, and talking some loud jibberish! I thought it was so sweet and funny I got it captured on my cellphone! I wished you could hear him better but something is better than nothing! I love his babbling!!!

4-wheelin!

Grant got a 4-wheeler from "Santa" and he is really loving it! Of course I can't seem to get a good video of him on it! By the time I get my phone settings to "video" or grab the video camera he's ready to get off! So.. being that we've had a couple of pretty days I let him take it outside and managed to get a quick clip of him on it! I wished I could've gotten him standing on the seat and riding.. yes I sd STANDING! He's gonna be a trickster like his Uncle Tol!

Bounce Baby Bounce!

My friend Emily coordinated a playdate at Bounce-U here in Murfreesboro. This place is so much fun, it has tons of inflatibles and things to climb and bounce on. I just KNEW that Grant would love this because all of his best buddies were there: Nate, Will, Noah, Roman, and Abby (she got to chill out in her stroller.. being that she's only 7 weeks old! Little Angel). Anyways... we walk in the door and Grant starts screaming "Mama.. Mama" and clings on to me for dear life. I guess he's going through separation anxiety because he freaks out if he thinks Im leaving him somewhere (ex: Gym, Church). So.. I put him in the bouncing things and he screams, so then I go in there with him and he was fine. I asked my friend, Casey, if she would lift him to the slide so I could take his picture (thanks Em for letting me borrow your camera!).. and this is the reaction I got..............

Terrified... he was NOT in to it. I mean.. my kid climbs on everything and is a wildman at home.. did I seriously just pay $8 for him to sit in my lap? Instead of bouncing he wanted to play with the air-hockey table (he wasnt the only one.. sweet Nate asked me for money hahahah!) or just sit on the bench!

He finally warmed up to it... these slides were SUPER FUN but gosh were they fast!

Im pretty sure I had more fun than he did! He finally warmed up to it, esp when we found the inflatible with balls in it! All in all it was a good time but next time I won't go so close to lunch time or I will feed him a snack before.. cause all he would say is "Go.... hungy.... eat" over and over again! Oh well!!! We still had fun and we'll definately go back!

Playdates!

I am so behind on my blogging! The week of Christmas we had two playdates, one with my friend Emily and her kids (Nate and Abby) and then the next day with Elizabeth and Allie! On both occasions the kids swapped Christmas presents and played their little hearts out! Grant got to meet Abby for the first time and it scared me to death, I was sure he'd try to hurt her. But he did great! He went over to her and sd "Baby... AWWWWW" and would drop his head to her little feet!! It was so cute! Of course Nate and Grant always play great together (well.. minus Grant pulling his hair.. sorry Nate) and the best part about it... Grant took a great nap!

Then it was time to go see Allie and Elizabeth... My oh my. Allie has some serious energy and can run circles around Grant! Elizabeth is always telling me how exhausted she is and I got a little glimpse of it! Allie is so sweet and loving and Elizabeth is in trouble when she gets older.. she's gonna give those boys a run for their money!!!! It was hysterical to watch her try to pick Grant up.. it was the funniest thing I've ever seen! The pictures say it all! Those two love each other and we're convinced they're a match made in heaven! Grant gave Allie a vac. cleaner and she gave him a wagon full of blocks. She immediately went to his toy and he went to hers. Nice.. Grant cleaning the floor with a pink vac.cleaner! Hilarious!

After those two playdates we went to Opryland Hotel with Papa and DeeDee. It was an adventure to say the least. Grant isnt really thrilled about being in his stroller anymore. The entire time he would scream "alk alk alk" meaning he wants to "walk". So reluctantly I got him out and wouldnt you know that child walked the ENTIRE way! Thats a long haul! Of course he had to stop and sit on every bench in site.. and he'd lie down on it and pose! He looked like he was on set for a swimsuit photo shoot! All in all he was pretty good but we were so excited we only made it through half of it and we didnt get to see the ice, oh well!

We are still tired from all of Christmas and New Years! I'm hoping to get back to normal this week! We're gonna start going back to the Discovery Center, walking, and napping on a regular basis! I've missed my routine!
Again.. I had so many pics I had to put them on a slide show and they are out of order! Sorry!

A lot of "Christmasing"

Buckle up .. you're in for an adventure.. this could take a while!
Boy oh boy did we have a busy week last week! We had two playdates, a visit to Opryland Hotel (both of those will have its own post!) and 4 different Christmas celebrations to attend, not including Christmas with just the 3 of us! Needless to say we are beyond pooped! Grant has been sleeping until 8 almost everyday, which has NEVER happened!
I hate to put all the pictures in a slide show (because I feel like you dont really get to see them good) but considering the fact that I took 145 pictures (I narrowed it down to about 40) .. I felt like that was the easiest way!

We started off on Christmas Eve by heading to Cookeville. We made our first stop at "Grandma and Pa Ron's" .. being that it was mild weather Grant got to go outside with Grandma and Uncle Sam to see the fish and frogs in the pond! He also got to go for a nice swing with Gma and Pa! Uncle Sam got his guitar out and Grant would go up to him and say "Tar Tar".. Sam was kind enough to let him play with it! Grandma had tons of delicious food to munch on and Grant got to curl up and watching Finding Nemo (for the 1 millionth time) and unwrap presents!! It was lots of fun!

Then we headed to Gpa's house.. .oh boy... it looked like "Chrismas Vacation".. I felt pretty certain we were at Clark Griswald's house!!! That is one man crazy about his Grandson! He had lights, garland, dancing Santas, snowmen, and a snow village... I have never seen so much stuff! The funniest part was.. the gifts.. OH MY.. between the 5 adults.. Grant's stack literally filled the den! There is a picture of it.. it was hilarious! You should've seen us trying to pack up the truck to come home.. it was crazy! Frank had some great food as well and little Grant made it till about 9 and he got goofy tired so we loaded him up and headed home!

Christmas morning we had to wake Grant up at 8:10.. I dont think I've ever had to wake him up! We brought him downstairs and he sd "Santa".. I sd "Yes .. Santa came".. he was still sleepy and couldnt really figure out exactly what was going on.. but he managed to find a sucker in his stocking.. and well. .. that just started the morning off right! He got on his 4-wheeler and took off.. it was hilarious! I was surprised he figured it out! He loved all of his gifts and we had a great morning! Its so much fun having a child on Christmas! He's the best gift I've ever received!

Then we headed over to Papa and DeeDee's for a huge spread! It was SO DELCIOUS! Poor Uncle Richard was sitting on the couch eating a cookie and of course here comes Grant and swipes his cookie in mid bite!!! HAHAHA! You gotta watch my kid when it comes to cookies! Look close.. I managed to get it on camera! DeeDee and Papa got us a swimming pool for Christmas.. a big 10x30 pool!!!!! So friends.. come on over this summer! BTW.. check out the pictures of Papa and DeeDee with the boys.. hysterical.. everyone of them were screaming.. and in one of them.. you cant even see Grants head!

And last but definately not least we headed over to Buddy and Grandaddy's for a fabo celebration! Again.. more delicious food and bountiful presents! We were sorry that Kelly, little Tol, and Yates couldnt make it due to a stomach virus, we missed them! After everyone left Franklin, Grant, and I stayed and played Yatzee with Granny and Gpa.. it was a lot of fun!

I'm still not sure what we're gonna do with all of Grant's stuff! I'm thinking that with the money I got.. possibly floor the attic!!! With the money that Grant got.. we're gonna get him a membership to the Discovery Center!!!! Super excited about that! Lord knows he doesnt need anymore toys!

Well.. thats it... lots of visiting, family, and gifts.. we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family! We tend to lose the meaning of Christmas due to all the madness.. but as we wrapped it all up .. Saturday night as I snuggled in bed I remembered that none of this was possible without the love and sacrifices of Jesus! I'm so excited we have the freedom to celebrate his birth and life!
Enjoy the slide show! Sorry its so long!

A little bit tired!

Sorry for not blogging lately! We've all had the "crud" and I've been up to my elbows in laundry, making chicken soup, and lots of cuddling with Grant! Let me just say that I suddenly remember what having a newborn is like. Holy Moly... Thursday night I got to go out with some friends to celebrate Mary Leigh's birthday and I was WAY PASSED due for a girls night! I got home about 9:15 and didnt get in bed until about 10, which you all know is seriously partying for this girl! Anyways, would you know that Grant started crying at 11? I went upstairs, rocked him and put him back down. I didnt even get his door closed and he was screaming again! That child did NOT go back to sleep until 2:45am. I feel like a total zombie. Im still not really sure what was wrong with him. He would rub his jaws and cry, so it makes me feel like his teeth hurt, so I gave him some Motrin. He was also saying "Eat, Eat, Eat". I thought, this is weird because Franklin sd he ate good. So I did something I never do, I went and got him some milk and he drank 7 ozs. So either the child was truly hungry or the cold milk felt good to his teeth! Whatever.. he only slept till about 7:30 that morning and seemed totally fine! It never fails though.. everytime I go somewhere or stay out late, you can guarantee.. he's gonna get up! Oh well. I love him anyways! I put up a few new pictures my Dad took of him I thought were cute!

This is my Dads HUGE "Merry Christmas" sign out in his yard!

This is one of my all time faves.. Grants "Mean Face"!

HoHoHo!

I love this video! Grant is totally loving "Tanta" (Santa) this year! He walks up to him and says "Tanta... HoHoHo"! Anything that resembles Santa I get a "HoHoHo"! Its so precious! I was putting up this Santa plate and managed to capture it on video!

Meet Sketchy!

Meet Sketchy the Monkey! Sketchy was given to Grant by his girlfriend, Allie, for his birthday! From then on, they have been inseparable! Sketchy was the name he came with so we didn't bother changing it, except Grant calls him "Keky".. good enough!

Grant sleeps with "Keky" and drags him everywhere and oddly enough he usually likes Sketchy to sit up straight!

He hugs him and says "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww".. my favorite is when he shares his "My Mik" (aka: Milk) with Sketchy!

Grant will sit Sketchy in the back of his car.. I did NOT place him for these pictures.. Grant sets him up straight and barely to the side to where he can reach him! Its precious!

I know this sounds cheesy.. but it makes me so happy that he loves his stuffed animals and his toys! He's a rough little boy but he's really sweet to Sketchy!
